Apple releases the new build of macOS Monterey 12.4 for the Mac M2 ahead of the launch of the 13-inch MacBook Pro
L’Apple (here for more information on the company) released a new one today build macOS Monterey 12.4. This is designed for the upcoming Mac M2, the first of which will be available for purchase today. The new software has a build number 21F2092 and it’s limited to new machines, so existing Mac users won’t see an update.
Availability of the egg build macOS Monterey 12.4
The update 12.4 of macOS Monterey can be downloaded to all eligible Macs using the section Software update System Preferences. No one has a M2 Mac yet, but the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip can be ordered tomorrow and will be delivered to customers starting Friday, June 24. The original version of Apple’s macOS Monterey 12.4 added support for the new firmware Studio Display 15.5has updated the app Podcast and has moved Universal Control out of the beta version. It is not known what is included in the additional update available for Macs M2.
While the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip debuting today, Apple has not yet announced a launch date for the MacBook Air M2. It is due to be introduced in July and new MacBook Air owners may have a day one update to install.
