The official Italian trailer of the new film directed by the director is now available William of the Bull, Nightmare Alley-The Fair of Illusions. Based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham, an intriguing film with dark and overwhelming noir nuances; in which passion and mystery touch each other continuously.
Starring Bradley Cooper joined by Cate Blanchett; Toni Collette and Rooney Mara. In cinemas since next January 27th, here is the official Italian trailer.
Nightmare Alley-The Fair of Illusions: plot and curiosity
The Forties. A simple traveling amusement park turns out to be a place of magic and mystery. There reality and fiction seem to move parallel, in an environment steeped in seduction and betrayal. Stanton Carlisle (B. Cooper) is a skilled merry-go-round with a talent for manipulating and deceiving people, considered the elite of New York society.
With virtuous Molly (Rooney Mara) loyally by his side, Stanton plots to scam a dangerous tycoon with the help of a mysterious psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who may prove to be his most formidable rival.
According to the director himself, the film represents the key to the rise and fall of the American dream:
I was very interested in telling a story about fate and humanity. Stanton Carlisle is a man who is given all the elements to change his life. He has people who believe in him, who love him and who trust him. However, his determination and arrogance are so strong that they push him away from it all
With the screenplay by William of the Bull and Kim Morgan, the film sees a totally black and white parallel version, titled Nightmare Alley: Vision in Darkness and Light(available for a few days in the halls).
