We said it Chocobo GP couldn’t win: Bronze in the Advent Calendar is all for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe review
Probably, before the DLC, we would have put the reason to have Nintendo Switch on day one on the podium instead Mario Kart 8 Deluxebut expanding content makes a game already worth one score points review stellar. We assume that the game, in the face of already considerable competition with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and (minimally) Chocobo GP, already has the advantage by offering all the contents of the base game and its DLC seen on Wii U Not content with the most diverse level design since Mario Kart DS, the blockbuster ups the ante doubling the paths by the end of 2023.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, twenty-third review of the Nintendo Switch Calendar
If we were talking about a 1:1 scale port, most likely the game would have barely displaced Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl from the top ten. The Big N has instead corrected the shot by including, together with the (ex-)DLC, also a second slot for weapons with which to compensate for the new mechanics of suspending objects behind vehicles and, above all, a Battle mode worthy of the name, with real arenas. As for the content from the point of view of the playable characters, they and their vehicles were unlocked without actively looking for them: just enjoying the game in multiplayer.

And if it weren’t one of the titles to always fall back on without brooding too much, we wouldn’t have dedicated a guide to it in which we still review the tracks today.
