Nintendo Systems: the new company of DeNA and the Great N is born

The Kyoto Colossus and DeNA join forces: Nintendo Systems will take care of infrastructure and services by acting as an offshoot of the company

Following the announcement made last November, the kyotense company and developers for smart devices DeNA they put the ring on the finger to found Nintendo Systems. This rib belongs to 80% of the entertainment titan and, again as advertised, opened its doors at the beginning of the month. The newly opened company website describes the role as the “development and deployment of systems related to the digital part of Nintendo’s business”, as well as in the “creation of services”. Considering that Shuntaro Furukawa spoke of (among other things) a value for the online service that “would grow year on year”, we couldn’t be happier.

Nintendo Systems is here, and it’s not just DeNA’s pedigree

At the head of Nintendo Systems we find a scion who will lead the DeNA team. Let’s talk about Tetsuya Sasaki, who joined the Big N in 1995 as a developer for the EAD studio. His roles have been supporting programming, but not only. He has contributed to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Kart DS, Wii Sports and Animal Crossing: Wild World, as well as fully handling the internet browsers for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The statement on the site states that the company was “born in April 2023 and led by engineers from Nintendo and DeNA to create a system to facilitate our customers’ access to entertainment.”

To make this news even more promising are the other statements. “Among the numerous innovations in the world of technology, while confirming originality and flexibility, our team works in synergy in discussing the choral approach with which to achieve great results. […] The Internet is evolving at an astonishing pace and is becoming more and more complex. In this context, after seven years of mutual trust, Nintendo’s originality marries DeNA’s technological know-how.” The latter has been seen on smart devices with Mario Kart Tour, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Miitomo, Fire Emblem Heroes and more.
