Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing proudly announced the design. For him this is the first smartphone as an ‘artist’ in some time now. “For years now it seems that all the “artists” have left the sectorAnd. Pei explains that “The phone (1) was designed based on instinct, in order to make a product for ourselves and above all that we will be proud of share with the people closest to us. I can’t wait for everyone to have the chance to try it out ”.
Inspired by the work of artists such as Massimo Vignelli who created the map of the New York subway, this smartphone wants to transform an object into art, however, indeed as essential as a smartphone. With over 400 components, the device is undoubtedly sophisticated. And ecological, since the 50% of the plastic components of the smartphone are made with bio-based materials or post-consumer recycled.
