Confirmation comes: Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is not happening. A bitter news that had been floating in the air for some time; but that didn’t surprise the audience that much Disney+. In fact, the series did not shine for the great and warm welcome; leading to the definitive stop of the series.
The announcement made by the official president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy; was followed by another statement; that is, a possible film centered around the protagonist Obi-Wan Kenobi, once again expanding the Star Wars Universe.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: the self-conclusion of the TV series of the Star Wars universe
Played by the actor Ewan McGregor; Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Scarred by his past failures (his young apprentice’s turning to the dark side Anakin Skywalker); Obi-Wan finds himself in exile on the planet of Tatooine, watching over Luke Skywalker. However, a crucial mission weighs heavily on Obi-Wan’s soul.
As stated by the same Kathleen Kennedy in previous interviews released:
I’ve always been hesitant to say no to more Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes. Maybe we’ll do something that will tie back to other stories we’re creating or eventually a movie, but who knows? At the moment, it remains a standalone limited series, with no immediate expansion plans
