One Piece Film Red scored dizzying numbers in the two days in which it premiered in Italy
Highly anticipated by fans and non-fans, One Piece Film Red does not disappoint and in the two days of preview screening it records truly incredible numbers. The anime ran on November 7 and 8 in the original language, scoring more than 51,000 admissions and a collection of just under 400.000 euro. A huge success for the landing in Italy of the new chapter of the One Piece saga, a film that saw the active participation of Eiichro Oda, the creator of the beloved manga series.
One Piece Film Red: an extraordinary success
The film, directed by Goro Taniguchi and produced by TOEI Animation, was staged in over 200 cinemas in our country, scoring numbers never recorded for a Japanese language program. Both on the 7th and on the 8th of November the film took first place in the box officeconfirming the great results that the new chapter of One Piece is collecting around the world.
At the sensational numbers in Italy, the film accompanies those in other countries, with extraordinary results also in France and at home, where the film has become the most profitable ever in the franchise and has established itself as the second best debut in the history of Japanese cinema, as well as the best anime grossing of 2022. ‘waiting for the official release, in dubbed version, of the film, scheduled for December 1st.
In addition to previews, the film was also presented at the Lucca Comics & Games 2022with the presence of the director and other members of the crew who worked on the film, from the Character Designer and Animation Director Masayuki Sato to the producers Hiroashi Shibata and Tomoya Yoshida, up to the voice actors Emanuela Pacotto and Renato Novara.
