SHENZHEN, CHINA – CIRCA APRIL, 2019: close up shot of Oppo sign as seen in China International Consumer Electronics Exchange/Exhibition Center (CEEC) at UpperHill in Shenzhen.
OPPO will be protagonist at the Augmented World Expo USA 2022, scheduled in California, in the USA, between 1 and 3 June. During the event, OPPO will show two augmented reality viewers. It is about OPPO Air Glass e OPPO AR Glass. The two new devices are not absolute novelties but have been chosen by the company to “debut” in the USA, a market where the brand does not market its range of smartphones.
OPPO Air Glass is a particular monocle equipped with Snapdragon 4100 chip. The device attaches to the ear and covers only one eye, projecting various information on the screen. OPPO AR Glass, instead, it is a device much more similar to a pair of glasses but characterized by a rich smart component and augmented reality functions.
To take advantage of the AR functions of the devices that OPPO will present in the USA, it is necessary to have an OPPO smartphone or smartwatch available. However, these devices are not marketed in the USA, a market where OPPO has not yet made its debut. Things could change in the future. OPPO could launch its hardware ecosystem also on the American market with the aim of quickly becoming a reference in the tech world, even overseas.
More details will come over the next few days. The expo dedicated to augmented reality, in fact, will take place at the beginning of June. Further updates could, therefore, arrive this week.
