A highly experienced conductor capable of ensuring good ratings, to present an undoubtedly interesting edition.

Oscars 2023: our predictions

After last year the night of the Oscars caused a lot of talk due to the slap given by Will Smith to Chris Rock, this year it is An anti-crisis unit capable of preventing any unscheduled event has been created. This therefore makes us think and hope that this year’s edition can concentrate more on the categories in nominations and on the world of cinema, which is not going through a good time.

And just about the nominations, we had fun to make predictions about winning the Oscars 2023 in the main categories, or those that make people talk the most: Best film, Best leading actor, Best leading actress. There are also our predictions on Best Foreign Film, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

Oscars 2023: our predictions in the Best Picture category

For the Best Film category, which has always been the most eagerly awaited of all, this year there are some very original titles that have surprised many audiences and critics. Here are the 2023 Oscar nominations for the Best Picture category:

  • Nothing new on the western front
  • Avatar – The way of water
  • The spirits of the island
  • Elvis
  • Everything Everywhere All at Once
  • The Fabelmans
  • Tar
  • Top Gun: Maverick
  • Triangle of Sadness
  • Women Talking

In this list, our forecasts of victory goes to the award-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, revelation film of 2022 that presents itself at the night of the 2023 Oscars with 11 nominations, a huge success at the box office and other important awards already won such as the SAG Awards. Funny, surreal film and made with a low initial production cost, Everything Everywhere All at Once is our favorite and also according to the bookmakers, i.e. the bettors. In fact, on the main channels that also allow you to bet on the night of the Oscars 2023, this film is given 1.10 with a big gap from the second favouriteAll new on the Western Front which is given instead to 12. In the world of betting, the quotation corresponds to the eventual net winnings, therefore the lower the quotation number, the more it means that there are many bets and consequently a lower earningsas the gap between these two films demonstrates.

Oscars 2023: our predictions in the Best Actor category

We continue our exploration of the nominations of the main categories, to arrive at Best Actor. Another category that holds many surprises and new faces this year. Here are the Oscar 2023 nominations for the Best Actor category:

  • Austin Butler – Elvis
  • Colin Farrell – The spirits of the island
  • Brendan Fraser – The Whale
  • Paul Mescal – Aftersun
  • Bill Nighy – Living

In this category, the battle between the nominees becomes more difficult, but our predictions go on Brendan Fraser star of the film The Whale. Even according to the bookmakers this actor is the favorite to win, with odds of 1.65. Here, the gap with the second favorite is decidedly lower than in the Best Film category, in fact Austin Butler who played Elvis is listed at about 2. Big difference instead with the other nominees, for example Colin Farrel quoted at around 12.

Oscars 2023: our predictions in the Best Actress category

In the Best Actress category, we find ourselves in a situation where the battle is still open and also plays on very different acting worlds. Here are the Oscar 2023 nominations for the Best Actress category

  • Cate Blanchett – Tar
  • Ana De Armas – Blonde
  • Andrea Riseborough – To Leslie
  • Michelle Williams – The Fabelmans
  • Michelle Yeoh – Everything Everywhere All at Once

Here there is a continuous head-to-head between Cate Blanchett absolute protagonist of Tàr and Michelle Yeoh of the super favorite Everything Everywhere All at Once. This head-to-head sees them just a few points behind them: Michelle Yeoh a 1.75 e Cate Blanchett a 1.80, but continuing to swing one in front of the other. Our predictions in this case are a gamble: and they go towards Cate Blanchett who could thus win her third career statuette. A gamble, because it is also part of the game of predictions and bets and in this case with such a tight head-to-head we also rely on his masterful performance in the film Tàrwhere his talent is an element that allowed the film to shine.

Oscars 2023: our predictions on the main categories

On the other categories, the challenge is less complex because the gap in the world of betting is decidedly greater between the winners and the other nominees. The film All Quiet on the Western Front which is not the favorite for the Best Film category, but it is in the Best Foreign Film category, with a rating of 1.08 and a huge gap from Argentina, second favorite but listed at 7.50.

Same situation for the Best Supporting Actor category in which there seems to be an unrivaled favorite in Ke Hui Quan, by Everything Everywhere All at Once, quoted at around 1.05. On the other hand, the Best Supporting Actress category is more difficult another very open battle between Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Angela Bassett, Everything Everywhere All at Once’s Jamie Lee Curtis and Island Spirits Kerry Condon. And in this situation, Angela Bassett seems to be a slight favorite even in the world of betting.

Let’s wait and… let’s see!
