The film tells the story of a brilliant and lonely mathematician who slips into a spiral of paranoia and madness when, while looking for a pattern that can predict fluctuations in the stock market, he discovers that his searches coincide with those of a group of Jews orthodox in search of a number capable of revealing the true name of God. A wild and hallucinatory mix of scientific rationality and mystical-religious metaphysics, Pi – The Delirium Theorem was Sundance Film Festival del 1998where it won the award for best director, and then caused quite a stir around the world.

On March 14 (which in the United States is referred to as 3/14 and which is therefore “Pi day”), a restored and 8K version of this film will debut in American IMAX, and to accompany the release it was released the new official trailer above.
