Niantic, Inc. today announced the global launch of Pikmin Bloom, the smartphone application designed to entertain and make everyday walks more pleasant. Developed jointly by Niantic and Nintendo, Pikmin Bloom allows users to make their daily walks more lively with the help of their Pikmin team: the game will be available on the App Store and Google Play starting in the next few days.

Pikmin Bloom is officially available

Pikmin are small plant-like creatures that exist all around us but cannot be seen with the naked eye. Pikmin Bloom finally allows you to see and interact with them. Pikmin grow from seedlings, and those that are grown and harvested by players will follow them everywhere. They love nectar extracted from fruit and, when fed, flowers bloom on their heads. Within Pikmin Bloom, there are many different types of Pikmin to encounter and interact with.

The most important activity in Pikmin Bloom is the daily walk. As you walk, the user will find some maps of Pikmin along his path, so the further you go, the more your Pikmin team will grow. After the seedlings have grown, it will be possible to pick the Pikmin. The more you walk the more friendships you can make with Pikmin!

Walking with your Pikmin will cause flowers to bloom along the way. By feeding the Pikmin with the nectar of the various fruits that can be collected in the game, beautiful flowers will blossom on their heads. Furthermore, by collecting the petals and planting them during your walks, it will help to make the buds open at every step, leaving a colored trail of corollas behind the user. In this way the world comes to life and transforms itself, creating shared flower paths!

At the end of each day, players can review the number of steps taken and the routes taken. You can also add notes and photos to your lifelog, turning an ordinary day into a special memory. Your Pikmin can also bring back some postcards of the places visited, which can be saved and kept, or sent to friends directly via the app.
