Our tier list goes METAL: here are the best Steel-type Pokémon with which to raise your index and pinky playing Scarlet and Violet

We are here again to frame another type by and Pokémon which you can find in Scarlet and Violetin this case theSteel. Introduced in the Gold and Silver versions together with the Dark, this element excels in one aspect: the defence. This typology in fact, it resists the blows of as many as ten types: obviously his, but also Beetle, Dragon, Flying, Grass, Normal, Psychic, Goblin, Ice and Rock. For the last three of these, then, it doesn’t go one way: a shiny blow hurts twice as much. We’ll get to the weaknesses shortly, warning you what to do with your metallic fighters.

General preamble

If you want a good Steel-type to hire in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s team, as we have already said, let it be only one! The importance of a balanced teampreferably without monotypesmust never be forgotten. There are 18 elements that a creature can belong to and as we said in our review of the games, the adventure will cover them one by one. You have be free places: with double-type animals you can get to fill them 12 and, if you like, with the right therapies you could potentially cover any weakness by reaching altitude 18 (or better, 13 in one fight). Iron monsters are weak to Fire, Earth, and Fighting, but are immune to Poison.

Revavroom

Speaking of the Poison type, we slipped Revavroom also in the list of poisonous creatures, so we will avoid going too far. The walking engine is well placed in speed and physical resistance, but in addition to its weaknesses that to Earth attacks is doubled. The downside is his ten resistors, including an immunity to toxic attacks. As for the moveset, this sentient engine can learn Metal Head, Poison Sting and even Dirt Throw. Usually we’d tell you where to catch the pre-evolution, but there’s a great Revavroom by Fire therapy in a valley of the Sierra Attacksat the extreme north of the map.

Copperajah – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

The metallic elephant Copperajah is a Steel-type that makes a return in Scarlet and Violet after being introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Being a monotype, from him this pachyderm has only excellent statistics, two out of all life points and attack. The Achilles heel, a minor element aside, is represented by speed and a surprisingly low defense. Thankfully though, Copperajah has a great move pool to choose from. Earthquake, Power Strike, Too Strong, Stone Edge: Need more? You can find Cufant in the eastern deserts and Copperajah itself near Sierra Nepada.

Lucario – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

In addition to earning his place in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pantheon, Lucario it is also present in the fauna of Paldea. This Steel/Fight it’s still a viable choice for any player, thanks to great stats and access to moves like Sword Dance and Close Combat. His weakness, however, is the need for the first of two moves to reach his true potential. Otherwise, it is much more agile and reliable than other metal monsters. You can find Riolu at southwest of Paldeawhile the adult Lucario can be found (again) near Sierra Nepada.

Orthworm – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

Speaking instead of new faces, we have the funny Orthworm. This monotype doesn’t look particularly impressive, but it has a very useful ability. In a similar way to Absorbacqua (described talking about the Paldea Wooper in the Poison-type guide), thanks to Mangiaterra you can take any Ground-type attack and regain life points, rather than losing them. You know what that means: of the three weaknesses, we got rid of the boxes to the Earth type. The moveset, then, is excellent: Metaltestata, Ferroscudo and even Terremoto. You can find it where you faced the Dominant variant: in theArea 3 Eastwhere are the excavations. Be warned, though: it’s a timid.

Bronzong – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

And this is where you really start thinking! The combination Psychic/Steel makes Bronzong much more resistant to Fighting-type attacks, while the iron half covers Psychic-type weaknesses to Bug, Dark, and Ghost. The Levitate ability then completely negates the weakness to the Ground type. In other words, therefore, with Bronzong you only have to be afraid of Fire. It doesn’t end there: this Pokémon is also a titan in defense, and has access to Stealth Rock, Toxin and Protection, as well as Psychic and Zen Butt. You could evolve Bronzor, but alla Sierra Nepada (again) you can directly catch the evolved form!

Magnezone – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

Despite a double weakness (and therefore quadruple damage) to the Ground-type, Magnezone remains a big name fifteen years after its debut. Magnetism Ability allows it to automatically trap Steel-type foes, which is perfect if you use it in combo with a good Ground- or Fire-type attack… in a double battle, of course. To really take advantage of his potential, however, you should change his therapy at the restaurant of mastery. The biggest hassle, which we advise you to save yourself, however, is another: to evolve Magneton. Luckily, if you know how to make good use of Koraidon/Miraidon’s leaps (to be upgraded), you can find Magnezone on the mountain ridge around the Paldea chasm.

Corviknight – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

By already earning points with the mention of the Galarian Flight Taxi in the Pokédex, Corviknight enjoys in turn a very good combination. Unite Steel e steering wheel covers two of the weaknesses of the first (Ground and Fighting), as well as the second (Rock and Ice). Just the Electric type remains. The strategy gives Corviknight many roles rolled into one. He can take a lot of hits, especially using Perch, while with Defog it is possible to clear the obstacles on the field. Finally, Baldeali allows you to deal massive damage. You can easily get it by training Rookidee and the Corvisquire evolution, both of which can be found almost everywhere southeast of Paldea. (And it is nearby that we also took the next photo…)

Kingambit – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

The marriage between the two newborn types in the Gold and Silver Version (but celebrated only in the White and Black Version) hardly needs introductions… much less evolutions, yet Bisharp has one in Speaking! As a combination, Dark/Steel suffers from a doubled weakness to Fighting-type. Aside from that drawback, this Pokémon’s defense allows it to take hits while setting up with Sword Dance, then do the dirty work with Metal Head and Night Slash. You can find Pawniard on the banks of rivers too near Dosilla (!) and Bisharp in the bamboo forest a northeast of Paldea.

Tinkaton – the best Steel-type Pokémon for Scarlet and Violet

Opposites attract and the best combinations are always those between two opposite types in terms of super efficacy. As proof of this, Tinkaton Offers us Steel/Goblin. Metal covers both Fairy-type weaknesses, including full immunity to Poison. As for the moveset, in addition to Sword Dance, Cuteness and Stone Edge, Tinkaton enjoys a devastating peculiar move (and, as such, exclusive to him): Wildhammer, with a base power of 160. This attack cannot be used several times in a row, but he doesn’t care: he will continue to slaughter dragons. Its earlier forms Tinkatink and Tinkatuff are found in the miscellaneous plane sparse per Paldea.

Gholdengo

Last but certainly not last (actually, first), we have Gholdengo. As a combination of types, Ghost/Steel it’s phenomenal, completely negating the metal’s weakness to the Fighting type. The latter also mitigates the weakness of ghosts to Dark moves and… well, Ghost. The 48-karat dowry of the Pokémon, however, is the peculiar ability Golden Body. The latter makes him completely immune to status ailments. Among his moves we point out Cannonflash and recovery. Be prepared to sweat it, though: it evolves from Gimmighoul when the latter is in the party while you get their material, the Gimmighoul coins. You will need 999 of them, so start climbing them now lookout towers!
