Porsche first quarter 2022 sales drop 5% globally

Porsche announces that sales in the first quarter of 2022 totaled 68,426 cars worldwide. This marks a 5% drop from the same period in 2021, when the automaker had sold 71,896 cars. A result, as the German brand explains, which in any case is not too bad given the negative period that is marking the automotive market.

“In light of the exceptional circumstances affecting the automotive industry in general, our sales teams and dealers were able to perform well in the first quarter,” hdeclared Detlev von Platen, member of the Board of Directors and Head of Sales & Marketing at Porsche AG. “The resurgence of the coronavirus in some regions, such as China, together with the continuing and significant logistical and supply problems, have put us to the test. At the same time, our products continue to be in high demand by customers all over the world, in Europe as well as in America and China ”.

Porsche in the first quarter of 2022 sees sales grow in Europe

If on a global scale the results were slightly inadequate, the same cannot be said in one of the most important markets such as the European one. In the Old Continent, the German car manufacturer delivered 22,791 cars which are worth + 18% compared to 2021 (19,389 cars sold). The queen nation is Germany, where the brand has sold 6,925 cars, which is equivalent to + 16% compared to the same period in 2021.
