Premature Aging in The Sims 4: Sims die faster due to a bug

With the typical tone of a parent who looks at his teenage son, we too have recently found ourselves saying: “You’re growing up too fast”, by contacting our Sim. This time, however, it’s true: the latest recent and mammoth update of The Sims 4 seems to have reintroduced the aging bug.

A bug that, as the name suggests, leads to a sad and untimely death for our beloved Sims. As the premature death rate rises, Maxis is working to restore the balance of life.

The Sims 4 and the aging bug

It all seems to have started with the launch of the new update, which introduces numerous content such as curved walls and body hair. Along with the update, however, a strange process began to occur: Sims grow, age, and die much faster than usual. And as if that weren’t enough, they do it with body hair. Paradoxically, and ironically, the bug seems to occur when choosing “lifespan: long”.

Maxis’ solution generates the Benjamin Button effect

Developer Maxis has already publicly acknowledged the bug on Twitter, advising players to “temporarily play with the default /” normal “lifespan. Meanwhile, the firm has promised that a solution to the problem will come shortly.

Despite Maxis’ advice, one user reported that changing the lifespan option to “short”, the age of the Sims regresses, and they become younger. In this case, we strongly recommend that you rename your Sim Benjamin Button.

At the moment there does not seem to be any further solutions. So if you have older Sims we can only advise you to make them drink plenty of water and prevent them from going out during the hot hours.
