Until January 15th it is possible to register for free at Online program: a free course promoted by Cisco which aims to train and spread knowledge about programming and coding. At the end of the course, one will be issued DevNet Associate professional certificationhighly sought after in the world of work.
The initiative is part of a larger project called Cisco Hour of Code, to increase awareness and digital skills. It is no coincidence that the course arrives during Computer Science Education Week, which is celebrated from 5 to 11 December.
Who is the free Cisco course for?
Online program is aimed at university students, those attending the last year of high school and professionals who want to enrich their skills. The course aims to train qualified figures, currently in great demand in the world of work. In this perspective, Cisco aims at developer training able to create applications and services integrated with key technologies for digitization such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, new generation networks.
A recent research by the Research Department of Anitec Assinform – integrating data from the Digital Competence Observatory – analyzed the ICT job offers published on Italian research portals in the first six months of 2022. The result is clear: as many as 32,000 of the 89,000 submissions surveyed concerned searches for qualified developers.
“It is a sector in which there is also room for people who do not have a specific degree, in which it is possible to get involved by acquiring targeted skills. The most requested are precisely the hybrid figures, able to build applications that make it possible to make the most of the characteristics of the technologies with which innovation is made today”, he explains Luca Lepore, Corporate Business Development Manager, South Europe at Cisco.
How to sign up for the online programme
In order to participate in “Programma In Rete” it is necessary to have first attended the course Cisco Networking Academy “Introduction to the Internet of Things”available online as a self-learning path that includes 6 hours of lessons and training webinars. The application must be submitted by January 15, 2023.
The complete path will take place between February and June 2023. The course includes 30 hours of training on data science and programming with the Python language (with preparation for PCEP – Certified Entry Level Phyton Programmer Certification). A phase oriented towards the professional Cisco DevNet Associate certification will follow. A final webinar is planned at the end.
