Sandra Oh and Awkwafina play two opposite sisters in the first trailer of Quiz Lady in which, to pay off their mother’s debts, they will take part in a quiz show
The two actresses Sandra Oh e Awkwafina meet (and clash) in the first trailer for Quiz Lady, a comedy coming to Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in Italy. The film follows two extremely different sisters among them intent on finding their missing mother and with a penchant for gambling. The first clip introduces the dynamics of the plot and further highlights the basic differences between Jenny and Anne, which couldn’t be more different.
The first is sincere, without filters and lives every day as if it were a great adventure. Anne, on the other hand, is shy and reserved, evaluates every risk and prefers to play defense. Plus she has a real knack for quiz shows. One day Anne receives a series of absurd news: his mother is missing, his dog has been kidnapped due to his mother’s debts and he will have to find a ransom as soon as possible. Anne doesn’t have a dollar to spare but, thanks to her sister’s impulsiveness, she decides to try an impossible path: taking part in a quiz show. The talent is there, but will she have the courage to answer questions correctly with a camera pointed at her face?

The cast also introduces other characters, such as Will Ferrell who plays the charismatic quiz show host. And also Jason Schwartzman, whose role has not yet been defined, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale and Jon ‘Dumbfoundead’ Park. The comedy is directed by Jessica Yu. The project to date could be the most relevant of his career, at least on the big screen. Previously, in fact, you worked mainly on television, involved in directing some episodes of American Horror Story e Citadel. Quiz Lady will premiere on Hulu on November 3, 2023 and simultaneously in Italy on Disney+.
