Packaging, build quality and materials | Realme 12 Pro+ 5G review

The package is rich and equipped, contains the 67W power supply with the USB-C cable and a transparent cover in silicone always much appreciated. The smartphone has a simple and minimalist design, with a large and elegant porthole on the back that houses the photographic compartment, surrounded by a knurling reminiscent of luxury watches. Realme 12 Pro+ 5G has aluminum edges and a back vegan leathera combination that makes it extremely elegant in any condition.

The sides of the device see the volume rocker, the power button, the input USB Type-C 2.0, the tray for the SIM and the lower audio speaker (the upper one is the earpiece). As mentioned, on the back there is a large camera module (which sticks out quite a bit) with three sensors and an LED flash at the top, which takes up the lines of the fake zipper. On the front we have a 6.7″ panel with optimized and symmetrical frames and a punch-hole style camera, small and discreet.

Hardware, connectivity and display | Realme 12 Pro+ 5G review

Realme 12 Pro+ 5G is based on the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with 4nm production process, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM (virtually expandable up to 24GB) and 512 GB of internal memory, at least in our variant. The performance is of an excellent level, even if the SoC installed is on paper inferior to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. This limitation, however, has an important advantage, efficiency: the smartphone does not overheat or run out of battery quickly, also thanks to the VC 3D cooling system.

The strong point of Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, however, is the curved front panel, of exceptional quality. The 6.7″ display offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the complete coverage of the DCI-P3 range and a PMW Dimming of 2160Hz, making the viewing experience very pleasant. The peak brightness is good, in fact it reaches 1000 nits outdoors. Connectivity is also top-notch, with Bluetooth 5.2 and a reliable data and GPS signal. The feedback aptico it is also exceptional, thanks also to software that enhances it in many of the daily operations. Finally, very good audio sectorwith two stereo speakers with high volume and quality.

Cameras | Realme 12 Pro+ 5G review

Realme has equipped this Realme 12 Pro+ 5G with three excellent sensors, a good one principale da 50 MP Sony IMX890 optically stabilized, an 8 MP ultra-wide and an OmniVision OV64B telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. Unfortunately the videos only go up to 4K a 30 FPS. Among the various features we find slow-motion, panorama, time-lapse, pro, 50 MP, portrait, night and street (for street photography).

The company then worked with Qualcomm to develop the new algorithm MasterShot omnifocale, which uses an extraordinary dynamic range for lifelike light and colors, as well as Google’s new Ultra HDR standard. The sensor 50 MP main It delivers excellent quality shots in any light condition, with a high level of detail and faithful colours. Plus, thanks to the partnership with Claudio Mirandayou can obtain cinematic effects and high-level portraits, taking advantage of the available filters and the optical and digital zoom up to 120x of the tele sensor.

Too bad that, as often happens in smartphones with this configuration, the colors are different between the various sensors, creating a obvious discontinuity (especially in videos). Anyway, the OIS it is very effective and guarantees good stabilization, even when recording a video. Finally, the 32 MP Sony front camera is also of good quality, with very sharp and detailed photos.

Software and autonomy | Realme 12 Pro+ 5G review

Realme UI 5.0, based on Android 14, is the software that powers this smartphone. As always, it is a stable and well-optimized platform, with pleasant graphic effects and useful features. Among these, the expandable folders, customizable widgets and the stand out file dockwhich make it easier to manage your apps and files.

The battery gives 5000 mAh guarantees excellent durability, with a day and a half of normal use or a day of intense use. Furthermore, thanks to thefast power supply in 67W package, you can recharge your smartphone in just over an hour. The only negative aspect concerns the bloatwarewhich are really numerous and intrusive at the first start, and which include apps of dubious usefulness and oriental-style games.
