Vespa once again joins RED, thenon-profit organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver. Originally born to fight the AIDS pandemic, it has now focused on the threat of COVID and its devastating impact on the most vulnerable communities.
Well, as the Vespa did on two occasions, this time it wore a whole red suit Electric Vespa to help the organization raise funds. In particular, $ 100 per motorcycle sold will be donated to the Global Fond.
Vespa released a new edition (RED) to help raise money for the Global Fund one of the largest health financiers together with (RED) in the fight against pandemics.
A RED Vespa could not fail to be all red
On this occasion the model chosen to help (RED) was Vespa Elettrica , the scooter powered by an electric motor with which shares concern and respect for global health and the environment.
The first thing they did with the scooter was dress it in red. On the one hand there is the gray finish which now includes a red steel body that also extends to the saddle or wheels. The chrome finishes complement the exterior of the bike. These emphasize the overall line marking, such as the profile that runs along the perimeter of its shield or the front fender.
As for the mechanical part, there are no differences. There are always two engine options. One designed for the AM license therefore limited to 45 km / h and one for driving license A1 or driving license B, with one maximum speed of 70 km / h. Both options have a range of 100 km and a charging time of 4 hours with a 220W domestic socket.
With this Vespa Elettrica the Piaggio Group has already entered into three collaborations with (RED). The First was the Vespa 946 (RED) in 2017 followed by the Vespa Primavera (RED) in 2020. As mentioned this time the agreement reached by both parties provides that for every motorcycle sold 100 dollars will be donated to the Global Fund. The money raised will be used to support aid programs in communities where the pandemic has hit the hardest.
The price of this new red edition of Vespa Elettrica is 6.999 euro for the limited to 45 km / h. The 70 km / h version is 7.199 euro . All prices include VAT.
