Redmi Pad SE review: the tablet for everyone

Design and build quality | Redmi Pad SE review

The tablet arrives in a basic package but still equipped with everything you need. Starting from the power supply, included and 10W, the USB-C cable and all the traditional manuals required. L’aesthetic appearance of the Redmi Pad SE is certainly among its strong points. The tablet has a modern and minimalist design, with a unique aluminum alloy body that makes it resistant and lightweight (only 478g). It is available in three colors: Graphite Grey, Mint Green and Lavender Purple (the one we received).

On the front the tablet features a screen-to-body ratio of 84.4%, thanks to some really well optimized frames, not bad! At the top we then find a 5 MP front camera while one is set (slightly upwards) on the back 8 MP camera. On the sides, in addition to the typical volume balance and power buttons, we find the holes for the 4 Dolby Atmos speakerswhich we will examine shortly, and a convenient and unusual 3.5 mm audio jack.

Hardware and Display | Redmi Pad SE review

The tablet is pushed by a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 and me too 4 GB of memory RAM. The internal memory, however, stops at the only possible configuration of 128 GB (unfortunately eMMC 5.1 type). The hardware on board is therefore not among the most recent, despite this the overall performance is still enjoyable, thanks to asoftware optimization truly remarkable (forget about gaming anyway).

The display is an IPS LCD from 11 inches with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, whose brightness can touch i 400 nit, definitely not a great value, but enough for most situations. Where the situation improves, and quite a bit, is in the audio sector, thanks to the good 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos certification with decidedly high volume and quality, perhaps just a little bass is missing.

In any case, this Redmi Pad SE will still give you aexcellent multimedia experiencethanks also to Widevine L1 certified for high resolution streaming on the various platforms (watching a film or TV series on Netflix is really enjoyable!). Finally, a small note on the cameras, the rear one 8 MP and the front from 5 MPboth not of the highest level but still capable of supporting a video call or an emergency shot.

Software and autonomy | Redmi Pad SE review

It is precisely in this field that the tablet gives its best, thanks to a complete software and well optimized. In fact, with the large 8000 mAh module they can easily be covered two or three days of intense use despite a not so optimal charging speed. The latter is a salt 10 W and can take up to three hours to complete.

The software is simple but effective, thanks to a stable MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and equipped with all the features and features added by Xiaomi over the years, such as the application bar accessible from the bottom slider at any time (really convenient for multitasking). The only flaw is the presence of many pre-installed apps, which often act as a substitute duplicate to Google’s stock ones.

Conclusions

Ultimately, this Redmi Pad SE proves that it has all it takes to be defined as a good travel tablet (or even at home, why not!). At the list price of 219,99€ is fully capable of managing social, web or multimedia use.

And tablet more than recommended, considering the proposed package and the software updated to the latest version of the green robot. You can buy it on the official website. Keep an eye on him!
