The new Renault Clio changes design and focuses on technology
With a more captivating and elegant design, the new Renault Clio also has a chic and refined interior. A new style, to inaugurate a new cycle, proposing a first version of the brand’s new stylistic language.
The new front, which combines technology and dynamism, the completely renewed light signature to express the Renault identity. And then it has taut, precise and effective lineswhich give the New Clio a stronger character, at the same time distinctive, vibrant, capable of exciting.
The New Clio is also updated in terms of technologies. As for the engines, it offers the widest range on the market in its category, to allow everyone to choose the solution that best suits their needs. Among the options stands out the motore E-Tech full hybrid 145 cv that combines driving pleasure and savings. The New Clio will be available in various trim levels, including the new one Esprit Alpine which stands out for its sporty look. In short – a completely different car compared to the past, without losing its identity as a city car.
A complete restyling
The front is the part that changes the most in the restyling, with the grille that it looks different, wider and more dynamic. It has a shade that starts from the dark color of the brand new satin and brushed chrome logo and becomes lighter towards the sides. The new Renault Clio is the first model of the Nouvelle Vague by Renault and has a new light signature with LED daytime running lights in the shape of a half lozenge, which recalls the symbol of the house. At the rear, the changes are less obvious, but they are there a renewed bumper with air intakes for aerodynamics and rear lights with crystal clear lenses. Among the colors available there is also the three-layer Gris Rafale, a matte color with a pearl effect.
Renault used many sustainable materials in the cabin. For the first time there is the Tencelan eco-friendly fabric made for the 60% modal fibers of biological origin that come from the cellulose of wood. The new Renault Clio no longer has leather inside. Instead, a granular coated blended fabric made with organic fibers and polyester fibers that require less water and energy to dye.
Technology makes a qualitative leap thanks to the new ones 7-inch or 10-inch borderless digital displays depending on the setups. To make driving easier and safer, the Renault Clio offers 20 driver assistance systems including Active Driver Assist (which combines adaptive cruise control with lane keeping). And then the 360-degree parking camera and active emergency braking that recognizes cyclists and pedestrians.
The new engines
New Clio has a vast choice of multi-energy engines, among which the motore E-Tech full hybrid da 145 cv as the technological flagship. This engine allows you to enjoy the mode electricity in the cityleading to a decrease in CO2 emissions.
The other engines available are petrol, diesel and bi-fuel petrol/LPG. And they cover a wide range of power outputs, creating what Renault calls the most comprehensive range of engines on the market. In this way, each user can find the configuration that best suits their needs and preferences.
For all these engines, with the exception of the 1.0 SCe 65 HP engine, the ECO mode which recommends the best practices to follow to consume less fuel. The E-Tech full hybrid technology, which has led to the filing of over 150 patents and is based on a hybrid architecture, known as “series-parallel”, includes two electric motors (a 36 kW e-motor and an 18 kW HSG – High-Voltage Starter Generator- type high-voltage starter) and a 4-cylinder petrol engine 1.6-litre 69 kW (94 hp). Both are mated to the intelligent multi-mode and clutchless dogshift gearbox and a 1.2 kWh battery. The transmission it has 4 speeds for the petrol engine and 2 speeds for the main electric motor.
The other engines are the 3-cylinder 1.0 petrol available with 65, 90 and 100 hp, the latter with dual fuel (Gpl), e 1.5 4-cylinder diesel with 100 HP. Find more information on the Renault website.
