Renault shows the silhouette of the new Austral SUV

Since the beginning of December, Renault has begun to slowly unveil the imminent arrival of the Austral SUV that is a candidate to replace its Kadjar. The latest official photo shown reveals the profile of the new SUV, but the details are hidden in the shadows.

Although Renault arouses curiosity with these images full of “mystery”, it is known how some photos of the future Austral taken in broad daylight but well camouflaged have been leaked for some time on the web. But now we can spot some new design details thanks to this new teaser image.

And the marketing department of the French brand is good at stimulating curiosity by revealing that “The designers have used all the criteria that make an SUV attractive in terms of proportions, ratio, overhang and wheel size, placing the emphasis on the shoulders and giving it a muscular look. The result is an SUV with a great personality, which does not forget its contemporary nature. Sculpted, athletic and modern, the New Renault Austral unveils its proportions that convey a sense of robustness and agility. Renault design, hitherto very sensual and contemporary, enters a new era. Thus the upper lines of the wheel arches give the vehicle a new structure, enhancing the profile with strength and precision. Structured and dynamic, Austral expresses the new language of Renault ”.

Renault Austral displays a more modern look

“The Renault Austral combines strong stylistic elements that give it a dynamic and elegant design”, said Gilles Vidal, Renault design director. The manufacturer has worked to refine the bodywork and in particular to improve the adjustments between the panels.

The Renault Austral still hides its very modern looking design, but the vehicle in the teaser photos does not appear to have any camouflage. This could indicate that the official presentation is approaching even if Renault has not yet revealed a date for the official launch of its new car.

What is known, except for sensational twists, is that the car will be equipped with optical technology seen for the first time on Megane E-Tech Electric. There will also be two greats C-shaped rear lights which, according to the company, will merge with the brand’s new logo. We will have to wait to see the complete design of this new model, but Renault has revealed some technical information about it. We know that no diesel engine will be in the catalog, with Renault focused on offering a range of hybrid powertrains. The French company has plans to improve the 1.3-liter powertrain which will be aided by a gentle 12-volt hybridization system. Also expected to debut an all-new 1.2-liter TCe engine with lightweight 48-volt hybridization, while a 100% electric version is also under development.
