The insider Dusk Golem has revealed some interesting news about Resident Evil Village and the story of Ethan, which apparently consists of a trilogy that will end with Resident Evil 9
Waiting for the next Capcom showcase dedicated to Resident Evil Village, scheduled for next April 15th, new rumors are starting to spread on the net. According to Dusk Golem, a fairly well-known leaker for the Resident Evil brand, the story of Ethan born in Resident Evil 7 would actually be part of a trilogy already structured in the company’s plans. The seventh chapter excited many fans in 2017, who saw it as a more than welcome return to the roots of the brand, departing from the more action titles that had dominated in recent years. A return to dark and dark environmental titles, with a passage to the first person that had also allowed greater identification. In short, Ethan’s first big (dis) adventure in search of his wife Mia had made a bang.
It was therefore not at all strange when, at the announcement of Resident Evil Village, the eighth main chapter of the series, many were sincerely excited. Not only at the sight of Lady Dimitrescu, of course, but for a passing of the baton that seems to want to continue on the theme of the seventh chapter. The demo released some time ago confirmed everything and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Dusk Golem, via Twitter, posted some interesting comments on the relationship between the chapters, which apparently would have been developed almost simultaneously and with a very thick thread. We leave you one of the tweets below.
(1/2) I guess to summarize the last few tweets simply & non-spoilery, know that Village being a direct sequel to RE7 was decided pretty early on, there’s some things put in RE7 that will make more sense after RE8. More than any other series of titles in the series history,

Will Resident Evil Village be the central chapter of a trilogy?
According to the leak, many of the things that seemed to be particularly strange or that did not make sense in Resident Evil 7, will return to their place in Village. We already know that in the eighth chapter Ethan Winters will return more resplendent than ever, together with the iconic Chris Redfield, already protagonist of one of the RE7 DLCs. According to Dusk Golem, Capcom would like to start detaching from the idea of numbering the chapters in watertight compartments, in order to create more complex and articulated stories like those of the Ethan trilogy. We’ll see!
In short, it seems that to conclude the trilogy of the story of Ethan, after Resident Evil Village there will also be a Resident Evil 9. What do you think?
