Review GOODRAM IRDM Pro Hollow White: no RGB tanto stile

GOODRAM IRDM Pro Hollow White review: style and performance. Today we will see RAM with great value for money, and a great design

Here we are, again talking about GOODRAM, company belonging to the well-known group in the European panorama Wilk Elektronik, specializing in the production of memories. The company based in Poland designs and manufactures SSD and RAM since 1991, with a reliability that has made it reach the primacy as a producer of memories in Poland, and collaborations with Micron and Samsung.

In this review we have seen their IRDM M.2 SSD, while now we discover some very beautiful RAM modules, and also very performing. Without getting lost in further talk, let’s find out more about these IRDM Pro Hollow White.

Review GOODRAM IRDM Pro Hollow White | unboxing e design

The packaging that has come to us is not the sales one but the one intended for the journalistic sector.

The RAMs in question are made in, and the materials are really good, they certainly boast a good construction. We are testing the model IRP-W3600D4V64L17S / 16GDC, this family of RAM is available in cuts from 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. In terms of operating frequencies, the maximum frequency of 4000 MHz and timing 18-22-22 are reached, our model has a frequency of 3600 MHz.

They are available in this color pearly white, or in the variant Pitch Black also very beautiful. What is striking is their very clean design, as they themselves define it, minimalist. We simply find the silver logo in the center and the product name at the bottom right. In the upper part of the border, on the other hand, we have a reference to the name of the product. The PCB itself is also completely white. Theirs format is the typical Low Profile. Therefore they can adapt very easily to various configurations. The heatsink is made entirely of metal.

We don’t have RGB lighting or similar elements, some might not like it, personally I appreciate the aesthetics of these RAMs.

Technical specifications and performance | GOODRAM IRDM Pro Hollow White review

Our announcement of RAM Dual Channel with operating frequency of 3600MHz boasts the following timing; 17-19-19 e operating voltages 1.35V, 1.4V. The modules are single sided. The aluminum heatsink rests on the PCB through adhesive thermal pads. The modules used by GOODRAM are excellent H5AN8G8NCJR produced by Hynix. They (IC) are design based Hynix C-die, modules that allow to withstand medium-high voltages and more “tight” timings well, but do not ensure a large overclocking margin.

We now leave the word from the tests carried out, and we recover in the conclusions.

Test Bench used;

  • Case: Be Quiet! Silent Base 802
  • Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus
  • Heatsink: Be Quiet! Silent Loop 2 360mm
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
  • GPU: Gigabyte 1050 TI
  • RAM: GOODRAM IRDM Pro H.W. 16GB 3600MHz
  • SSD: GOODRAM PX500

The analysis of Thaiphoon Burner allows us to obtain access to various detailed information about the memories, by making direct access to the EEprom chip containing the operating instructions. And check the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) to extrapolate important info.

The slides below show us the information on the structure and on the Chips. As we can see we also have the different profiles compliant with the standard JEDEC.

We first carried out tests to evaluate the stability of the modules to the XMP compliant standard to which it is sold, therefore 3600MHz. Here we can observe the timings at which the RAM bank is automatically set. Of course we do not find particularly tight timings, already from this screen we can guess that it is not a bank of RAM particularly suited to overlcok. But in the stability test it performed very well.

We have carried out about 35 minutes of Prime 95 to evaluate and undermine latency and RAM, with a FFT sizes reported, and subsequently with AIDA64. The system has always been stable and has shown no uncertainties. These are some of the latency timings detected during the Stress Test.

We then moved on to the SS Sandra software, to carry out some famous quality tests on Cache and Memory and Latency. The results are as follows. Not values that we can consider the best in absolute terms, but they are certainly average and above all, stability a 3600MHz is insured. Finally we did a Benchmarks on Cinebench R20 to get a performance index number as a comparison, and we got 5035.

Overall, the performances allow us to carry out different applications senza bottleneck o performance drops, the required voltage and consumption, on the other hand, are within the standards and there are no anomalies.

Conclusions

GOODRAM IRDM Pro Hollow White RAMs are to choose for a general value for money. In my opinion, they have a very beautiful design, with one factor to take into consideration, which is the design Low Profile.

The performance is absolutely good for most people, certainly for lovers of the last bit of performance they are not suitable, as the latencies are not among the lowest. In terms of Overclocking then, we tried to make some attempts, even if the type of module used is not strictly suitable, but we saw that even in the face of small increases we asked for a lot of voltage, so we left it alone.

They are to be recommended for those looking for Low Profile modules, and average performance of 3600MHz. If you want to continue to know the latest news from the hardware world, keep following us. Greetings from TechGameWorld.com.
