Cult movie plot | Hocus Pocus 2 review
The sequel film opens with the childhood story of the three Sanderson witch sisters, and the real reason for the hatred they have always harbored over the years. Then the film returns to the present day, where we find three as many young protagonists, Becca, Cassie and Izzy, on Becca’s sixteenth birthday, but not just any birthday. This is not just any event for a witch, as legend has it that when she turns 16, she ascends to power.
But Becca doesn’t believe in these things, magic for her is just a game, spells and potions are just a pastime to celebrate her birthday with her friends. But everything changes when Gilbert, owner of a shop of magic and scary items, gives the young woman the black flame candle. A gift that is obviously laughed at, also for her ugliness.
As obvious as it is, Becca lights the candle with a black flame, in the Forbidden Forest of Salem, unwittingly reviving the diabolical Sanderson sisters of the 17th century, who are now more than ever seeking revenge. It will then be up to Becca, Izzy and Cassie to prevent their sisters from taking their revenge.
The first Hocus Pocus had already achieved enormous success, and the sequel is no less, proving undoubtedly very promising. Although the plot has changed little since the first film, the film is very interesting. Of course, it must also be said that part of the credit goes to the actresses, who are a marvel: their ability to act makes everything magical and unique. Everything shows that the saga is active, it attracts children of all ages and genders, even families and, although it is a film dedicated to the Halloween party, it is not scary at all and therefore it is also suitable for children.
