News arrives on the remake of The tough of the Road House produced by Amazon: the protagonist will be Jake Gyllenhaal, led by director Doug Liman
Contemporary cinema is now increasingly full of remakes and reboots of great successes of the past. Among the many projects of this type that we will see in the future there is also the one that brings back to life the tough guy from the Road House, a great success of 1989 with the legendary Patrick Swayze. The remake of the film will be made by Amazon studios and therefore will see the light on Prime Video. It will be directed by Doug Liman, while the exceptional protagonist has the face of Jake Gyllenhaal.
The tough guy of the Road House: the remake arrives
For many years, in reality, we have been talking about the remake of The Hard of the Road House and now, finally, important news about it arrives. The project bears the signature of Doug Limana veteran of action movies with films such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow.
Liman will be in charge of directing Jake Gyllenhaal, protagonist of a cast that also includes Nilly Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage and Travis Van Winkle. Gyllenhaal plays a former mixed martial arts champion who takes a job as a bouncer at a tavern after retirement. Here he discovers some dark truths, which are hidden behind an apparently prosperous and peaceful situation.

Waiting to know some more details about the film, some statements from the protagonists have arrived. Thus, for example, she expressed herself Jennifer Salke, president of Amazon Studios: “Not only is it a tribute to fans of the original, but it’s also a big, fun, and large audience movie. Doug and I have both made some spectacular action movies and we are ready to put all our experience into this Road House ”.
A heavy legacy
This remake is clearly the subject of incredible hype and curiosity. The Hard of the Road House is an iconic film, thanks also to the famous interpretation of Patrick Swayze, immortal in films such as Dirty Dancing and The Boys of 56th Street. The original film was released in 1989 and also had a sequel in 2006, titled Road House – Drug Agent.
That second chapter failed to get the resonance of the first, also falling under the weight of expectations. A challenge that is also faced by this remake of Prime Video, which has the hard task of having to rival a cult model.
