In these hours, a rumor has begun to circulate on the net according to which the port of Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch is already ready, but Nintendo is waiting to publish it for specific reasons.
E3 2021 brought the Metroid brand back on everyone’s lips, which has been silent for too long in fact, with the announcement of Metroid Dread. There is no particular news on Metroid Prime 4, in fact, but the new chapter of the series will be the first to fully exploit the functionality of the Nintendo Switch OLED hardware. The fourth iteration, however, is still in development and anyone who is passionate about the franchise is starting to wonder what Nintendo plans to do with it. Sooner or later it will surely arrive on the market and in that case, why not, you could dust off the previous chapters of the series. In fact, there is a collection, available on both Nintendo Wii and WiiU, called Metroid Prime Trilogy which contains the first three chapters, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes e Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
In the past few hours, the rumor has begun to spread on the net, which would corroborate rumors already heard over time, for which the porting for Nintendo Switch of this trilogy would actually be ready. In reality, it was not the classic anonymous insider on Reddit who spoke, but the important one reporter Jeff Grubb during the third episode of Grubbsnax. According to Grubb, in fact, the trilogy would already be ready to be released on Nintendo’s hybrid, but the company is waiting to publish it. The reason why? Simple.
Metroid Prime Trilogy: according to Grubb, the port on Switch is ready
For pure speculation, the first thing that obviously comes to mind is that the company is waiting to release the Metroid Prime Trilogy simply to do so just before the release of Metroid Prime 4. The fourth chapter has been in development for a very long time. , maybe too much. This may have caused even one decreased interest from the public, so releasing the trilogy near the new iteration would actually be a good choice for the company.
Nothing confirmed, however, but a Metroid Prime Trilogy arrival on Nintendo Switch is in fact both very likely and very tempting. What do you think of it?
