Samsung Galaxy S22: no camera under the screen

There are still six months left until the launch of Galaxy S22 but the first details about the smartphone are already coming out Samsung, starting from screen and camera. In fact, it seems that the Korean company already has quite clear ideas about what it wants in the next top of the range. And also about what he doesn’t want: there will be no under-screen camera for Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series.

No camera under the screen for Samsung Galaxy S22

The new S22 series should be released between January and February 2022. But this hasn’t stopped the leakers, who are collecting information and details on the smartphone, still in the final stages of design. In particular, the tipster @FrontTron revealed some juicy information on Twitter.

We can only take this information using pliers, but it looks like Samsung has decided to do not use a camera under the screen for Galaxy S22 series. The novelty brought on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will remain only on the folding, with the company wanting to aim for a more classic design for the S22.

Also interesting is the fact that, according to the tipster, only the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 6.81-inch LTPO display. The base model and the Plus will have respectively 6.06 “and 6.55” LTPS screen. The key difference between these technologies is that LTPO displays can take on any frequency between 1 and 120Hz promised by Samsung, while LTPS can only travel on fixed refresh rates. So the Ultra should deliver better battery performance and smoother animations.

As for the camera, the base and ultra will have a 50MP main sensor, accompanied by a 12MP telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide. The main sensor of Galaxy S22 Ultra rises to instead 108MP (although some rumors say it can go up to 200MP). The battery will also vary from 3.800 mAh of the base ai 4.600 del Plus e ai 5.000 dell’Ultra.

The processor should be new Exynos 2200 with AMD mRDNA graphics card. But only in some markets, while others will receive one Snapdragon 898 with Andreno GPU. The first alternative is certainly exciting for tech enthusiasts, who can’t wait to see how AMD performs in the mobile space. But it is in any case a very powerful chip.

These are all rumors. But they already trace the profile of Samsung’s new top of the range. We just have to wait for the rumors to turn into certainties. We will keep you informed.
