In the past few hours, Atlus has shown a new story trailer of Shin Megami Tensei V, the new RPG coming to Nintendo Switch next November
Announced back in 2017, we have heard a lot about Shin Megami Tensei V especially since, shortly before Nintendo’s E3 2021 conference, rumors started circulating about a probable release date (later almost confirmed) set. for next November. Developed by Atlus, who you will surely know for the beloved (also from us!) Persona 5 and the most recent musou Strikers spin-off, the title is highly anticipated by all lovers of old-fashioned RPGs who bear the signature and inspiration of a development house that, over time, has only known how to make itself loved. The game is showing itself in recent weeks with a long series of trailers, aimed at revealing details on some of the creatures that we will find ourselves fighting.
In the past few hours, however, Atlus has also released a new trailer dedicated to the story of Shin Megami Tensei V, and it is also a rather interesting movie. It must be admitted that the plots written for the various Shin Megami Tensei, as the Remastered HD of the recently released third chapter also testified to us, they are often a mix of genres, settings (more dark than the Persona series) and emotions. The protagonist of Shin Megami Tensei V will perform a “fusion” with a being called Aogami, to transform into the Nahobino entity. We will therefore have to use the immense powers of the new entity to save the city of Tokyo from impending catastrophe. The script seems to keep in line with the previous chapters, with epochal battles between ethereal forces and rather high themes. What this fifth chapter seems to have in addition is obviously an immensely higher production value than what we were used to.
