Smartbook kicks off organized by Canon and Forgraf
The book market is constantly evolving: while order volumes increase, printings decrease. In fact, from a Nomisma study (based on Istat data), it emerges that in the last decade 30% of books published have sold just one copy and the average price, equal to 14.66 euros, has fallen by 0.6% in 2022 compared to to 2021 and by 1.1% compared to 2019. Less expensive books and print runs between 1 and 10 copies push professionals towards intelligent publishing, i.e. the production of books on request. Instead of printing first and selling later, today exactly the opposite happens. This flexible mode allows publishers to avoid costs and waste, as well as make a profit.
Faced with this new scenario, Canon varioPRINT TITAN printing solutions integrated with Horizon finishing technology and Tecnau cutting/accumulation system respond perfectly to market demands: shorter runs, print on demand functionality and dynamic publications.
During the event, on 26 and 27 October, visitors will be able to see the machinery at work, therefore producing finished books, ready for shipping, in 30 seconds: from file to print, from preparation to binding and trimming. All in one process. Smartbook means efficient processing, more agile and rapid printing with the presence of a single operator, thanks to the complete automation of the start-up and job changeover phases.
For the Japanese brand, there will be various products on display at the Tecnau Experience Center starting with the varioPRINT 6330 TITAN, the pioneering monochrome production printer for printing large volumes in high quality. It is characterized by speed, productivity, sustainability and greater efficiency thanks to Prisma software solutions. And again, Canon imagePRESS V900 Series, the compact and reliable range of digital printers, designed to meet the needs of commercial and in-house print service providers, with speeds of up to 90 pages per minute. It reduces the duration of manual tasks, increases productivity and offers a wide variety of applications.
