Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the release date of the much talked about live-action remake of Snow White has been postponed
The SAG-AFTRA strike continues to cause delays and postponements of highly anticipated films. After the almost complete reformulation of the Marvel releases, Star Wars and the Avatar franchise, Now the hit is the much-anticipated live-action remake of Snow White. The live-action release date was set for March 22, 2024, but now the film has been delayed by almost a year. In fact it seems that the new date has been set for 21 March 2025. Disney, however, also shared the first image of the film, where we can see the protagonist surrounded by the seven dwarfs. In the last months there was much discussion about the dwarves who would be replaced by unspecified magical creatures. Furthermore, a photo would have made the rounds on the web depicting these seven creatures of different ethnicity, sex and height who would have replaced the iconic seven dwarfs known to us all. It seems that anyway Disney has finally denied this rumorreleasing the first official photo of the remake.
Snow White: release date postponed, live-action postponed!
The plot of the live-action, as confirmed by the protagonist herself, will not be faithful to the original, but will tell a story more modern version of Snow White: the focus will be shifted to growth path of the princess who will try, personally, to become the leader her father would have wanted.
Indeed the character who will be absent from the film is the prince himself, who will be replaced by the mysterious Jonathan, starring Andrew Burnap. Snow White, however, will be played by Rachel Zegler chedespite all the protests related to her appearance, which does not exactly conform to that of the princess we are used to seeing in the animated classic, she seems to be the perfect choice to play Snow White thanks to her extraordinary singing skills. The evil queen will be played by Gal Gadot and the hunter will be played by Ansu Kabia. We then find Marc Webb directing the live action, while the screenplay is by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Jones.
