Sony TV presents the new range of televisions for 2023

The new range of TV Sonypresented today for Europe, includes the new high-end television QD-OLED A95L, also in the 77-inch cut. As per tradition for the brand, the models are divided into OLED, mini LED and LED. The flagships of each segment provide the appreciated Bravia XR processorwhich is redefining image quality standards.

The XR processors, introduced by Sony in 2021, are an example of the constant work of the brand which, over the course of 2 years, has continued to refine its upscaling technologies. The result is the brand new XR Clear Image, a technology that makes the sharpest image ever. XR Clear Image can now analyze the input signal and recognize its characteristics(from the original resolution to the bitrate via the encoding parameters). In this way the processor manages to minimize the noise to optimize the visual resolution.

It goes without saying that XR Clear Image is built into all TVs with XR processor.

Discovering the new Sony TVs for 2023

For the segmento OLED top of the line it is for sure A95L. This is characterized by a QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display (available in 55, 66 and 77 inch versions) and the Bravia XR processor. The model is slightly less performing A80L (55, 65, 77 and 83 inches), equipped with a more classic LG Display OLED panel. It should be noted that compared to last year the numbering of the models remains identical, but the letter L has replaced the K. A change that is also noticeable in the design, with the definitive farewell to the skate board platform that had characterized the aesthetics of the A95K. In its place i removable and reconfigurable feet.

From a technical point of view, the peak luminance of A95L is twice as high as the previous model A95K. The features portfolio is completed by support for Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDMI 2.1 with VRR and ALLM, 2.2-channel Acoustic Surface Audio+ sound system now also compatible with DTS:X as well as Dolby Atmos, Google TV, support for AirPlay 2 and Home Apple kits.

For the segment Mini LED reference models only X95L e X90L. The first mounts two new frame tweeters (transducers integrated into the side frame) in a raised position, so as to give a greater sensation that the sound comes from the center of the screen. X90L instead it is characterized by a backlighting that switches from mini LED to ordinary full LED with local dimming.

To complete the range of new Sony TVs we find the two lowest-level LCD series: X75WL and X80L. The big difference between the two models is the HDR remaster function (not included in the base level X80L) and VRR support (only available on X75WL). However X80L benefits from more extensive inch sizes (43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches).
