Sony has finally introduced the new models of the IV family with the top of the range Sony Xperia 1 IV and the “younger” brother Sony Xperia 10 IV. Two new smartphones focused on audio and streaming quality ready to meet the needs of both content creators and standard users with an attractive design and lots of quality. But let’s start with order:
The Sony Xperia 1 IV model certainly represents the spearhead of the announcement. We are in front of a device whose focal point is the quality and yield of videos and live streaming.
Sony Xperia 1 IV mount one 6.5 OLED screen thumbs with 4K resolution, 21: 9 aspect ratio protected by a solid Corning Gorilla Glass Foods. The smartphone also supportsHDR it’s a 120Hz refresh rate.
In support of the direct, we find a photographic sector par excellence with a rear camera that features a iToF 3D sensor, a 12MP lens (f/2.2, 16mm, ultra-wide), un second 12MP sensor (f/1.7, 24mm, wide) e una 12MP third lens (f / 2.3-f / 2.8, optical zoom). The front camera is also 12MP. Among the functions of the camera we find Real-time Eye AF, Real-time Tracking for all lenses, Optical SteadyShot con FlawlessEye e Slow Motion in 4K a 120fps. Also noteworthy is the use of the first 85-125mm optical zoom in a smartphone.
For streaming we also have the Game Enhancer, a feature that allows, among other things, to reduce motion blur, make live streams start faster and keep them more stable. In addition Bravia Core and Music Pro will give their help on entertainment and voice recording.
Under the body instead we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD) and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W charging as well as wireless charging.
The new Sony Xperia 1 IV will be available from mid-June 2022 in Black, Ice White and Purple colors. The price? 1399 euro!
For the less demanding but who do not want to compromise on quality, we also find the Sony Xperia 10 IV. A more affordable smartphone that gives up some features we have just seen, but which still turns out to be an excellent device.
We find in fact a 6-inch OLED display con aspect ratio 21:9 and here too, a Corning Gorilla Glass Food. The major “sacrifices” have been made under the shell where we find a previous generation of chip SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. As for the camera instead we have three different sensors: ultra-wide (16mm), wide-angle (27mm) and tele (54mm)as well as a 8MP front camera. The battery on the other hand is 5,000 mAh.
The Sony Xperia 10 IV will also arrive on the market in mid-June 2022 but at the price of 499 euro.
During the presentation it was reported that Sony, like almost all smartphone manufacturers, has given up on including the charger and its USB Type-C charging cable in the packages. This would allow the company to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 36% per single unit.
