The Space in Response to Covid-19 call aims to collect ideas for make the most of space technologies to combat Covid-19. Among the selected projects we find apps to monitor the evolution of the pandemic as well as robots to help hospital staff. There is also no lack of coding platforms and interactive games.

Many proposals collected

The announcement was a great success. Overall, in fact, over 100 proposals were collected. Furthermore, many of these proposals have registered a concrete development also thanks to the funds (10 million euros overall) made available by ASI. In particular, the app Epic-19 which combines epidemiological data with satellite images to improve pandemic monitoring. Also worth mentioning Code-19, a robot system developed to move around hospital environments and provide support to medical staff.
