Publisher Assemble Entertainment has released the trailer for the new video game Sphere – Flying Cities. Developed by the team Hexagon Sphere Games, it is a city – builder, or rather a management video game, in which players will be able to create their own city in a sci-fi setting.
The launch of the title is expected in autumn, when according to the plans the Early Access version should arrive on the Steam Online Store. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world. The flying cities are home to the last surviving Earthlings, and it will be our job to manage their well-being and keep them alive.
Sphere – Flying Cities trailer, features and setting
In the not too distant future, in fact, the Luna was hit by massive asteroids. The disaster rendered the earth’s surface incapacitated, causing the planet’s ecosystem to collapse. The flying cities represent the last hope for the survivors to avoid complete extinction.
The role of the player and choices
Flying cities are based on the new one anti-gravity technology. The title will feature a mix of strategic, simulation and survival elements. Users will take on the role of the Commander, who will have to build, renovate and protect what remains of humanity in the uninhabitable and hostile future.
Every decision made will change the game world, with inevitable consequences. We will have to think about the health and well-being of the citizens of the flying cities, and then take care of the provision of food and medicine, for example. The choices won’t always be simple: sometimes we will have to sacrifice lives for collective survival.
For the uninitiated, Assemble Enterainment, the publisher of the game, is a developer and distributor of independent titles. He is known in the industry for several titles, such as Endzone – A World Apart and Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice. It organizes a developer event in Germany every year to talk about the development of the gaming industry.
