Spotify has acquired Heardle: the Saraband-style online music quiz

Do you remember Heardle? Of course yes! We told you about it in unsuspecting times, when several Wordle spin-offs were born on the net. In particular, this challenged users to guess the songs (one a day) from the few notes available. Each error was given a clue in the form of more listening time, and once five wrong titles were entered, the solution was revealed. Today’s news is that Spotify acquired Heardle. So what will change for fans?

Heardle is now owned by Spotify

The news arrived on the official blog of the hugely popular music streaming platform. Don’t worry though: Heardle will remain free and there are no major changes to the game. For the moment the only novelty introduced is the possibility, through Spotify, to listen to the song once the quiz of the day is over. It must be said, however, that currently, when accessing the game site from Italy, an error appears that prevents us from playing. Regarding the acquisition, Jeremy Erlich, Spotify’s global head of music, said as follows:

“Heardle has proven to be a really fun way to connect millions of fans with music. Since its debut, the game has quickly had a loyal fan following, and its nature aligns with our plans to deepen interactivity in the Spotify ecosystem. “

According to what was stated Spotify will be rolling out Heardle in the app in the near future, starting with the US market. We hope to come back to Italy soon, also because we know with certainty that the Cat Man uses him as a training against Vecna.
