Against the backdrop of Star Wars Celebration Europe in London, Kathleen Kennedy was joined on stage by Daisy Ridley for the announcement: James Mangold, Dave Filon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be the three directors of the next Star Wars trilogy, which will arrive over the next few years. We don’t know the titles yet and we don’t have further information and spicy details such as the dates, but a little something has already been revealed. And it could really make fans’ mouths water.

We already have an idea of what the upcoming three films will be about in the new Star Wars universe. The one directed by Mangold, for example, will go back in time to “the dawn of the age of the Jedi”, while the one directed by Filoni will focus on the New Republic and will directly connect to series such as Ahsoka, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett . Perhaps, however, the most interesting seems to be the film directed by Obaid-Chinoy, which will see the return of Ridley as Rey Skywalker, working to build a new Jedi order, following the events in The Rise of Skywalker.
