“To do, or not to remake, there is no remake”: has the return of Knights of the Old Republic to the Star Wars videogame Galaxy been cancelled?
From what emerges from the latest rumor (which we immediately invite you to take with a pinch of salt), it is possible that the remake long awaited Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic it was deleted without much ceremony. This is what emerged from Jeff Grubbwho commented on the latest statement by Lars Wingefors. During the last quarterly meeting with shareholders, the CEO of Embracer Group he stated that he was aware of how “everything I say becomes a headline” in response to a question about the remaster. Grubb gave context to Wingefors’ no comment, as according to the rumors the game was “taken from Aspyr Media, authors of many Star Wars remasters, and given to Saber Interactive.”

Altri rumor su Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, remake cancellato?
“There have been other rumors about the game going to other studios since then,” continues Jeff Grubb. “I want to be clear – no one is working on the game right now, period.” The title was born as a supposed collaboration between Aspyr, Lucasfilm Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. We saw it among the ads of PlayStation Showcase of September 2021. Over the past two years, the problems with the game have been multiple. Bloomberg declared last summer that the development had reached a dead end. Embracer previously confirmed the involvement of Saber Interactivebut two months ago Sony removed the social media posts regarding the game (e privatizing the reveal trailer) attributing the cause to music licensing. “I confirm it 100%: no one is working on it,” Grubb concludes succinctly. “I hear Sony doesn’t want anything to do with it anymore.”
