IThe EU Parliament approves the stop to sales of petrol and diesel cars, following up on the proposal presented by the European Commission in recent weeks. Starting dal 2035indeedthe sale of petrol and diesel cars on the EU territory will be prohibited. Note that the sale of commercial vehicles will also be prohibited. The EU Parliament also rejected the proposal which provided for a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2035 instead of zeroing altogether (as regards the models sold).

In 13 years, therefore, it will no longer be possible to market new cars with non-zero emissions. It should also be noted that the commitment to 55% emissions cut to be achieved by 2030. This commitment is part of the package of measures Fit for 55part of the European Green New Deal.

For some time now, the manufacturers have started programs for a complete electrification of the sector. The final ok arrived from the EU Parliament on the stop to sales of petrol and diesel models translates into a confirmation of what had already been budgeted for some time.
