The beginning of the final season of Stranger Things has been revealed thanks to a excerpt from the script which was disseminated via social media. The production continues to accumulate delays thanks to the actors’ strike which shows no signs of coming to an end. Howeverthe writer’s room account is back active and reveals an excerpt of the script, in which a “familiar song” is heard. The excerpt in question was shared during Stranger Things Day, November 6, the date on which Will Byers disappeared. this excerpt opens with:

As per tradition, the season finale of Stranger Things could open with a flashback. So the familiar song mentioned from the script could be Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, which we heard several times in the fourth season, where she played a central role. So there is a chance to see a Max who sang her favorite song as a child. Or could we see little Will singing Should I Stay or Should I Go? by The Clash, a song that we recognized as Will’s favorite in the first season of the series.
The title of the first episode of the fifth season of Stranger Things will be The Crawl, according to what was revealed by the writers of the series. According to many fans, the title could refer to Eddie Munson and Metallica’s Master of Puppets, which contains the lines “Come crawling faster…” Therefore the opening flashback could show Eddie as a child singing Master of Puppets, a song which, moreover, performs in the climax of the fourth season finale.
