Jemes Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman: Legacy continues to be a box of big stars. The film, expected for July 2025, will see Marìa Gabriela De Faria in the role of the villain The Engineer
Since the actors’ strike was said to be temporarily over, James Gunn immediately resumed casting for his Superman: Legacy. This is the first feature film of the new DC Universe which is expected for July 11, 2025. It seems that the Venezuelan actress Marìa Gabriela De Faria has joined the cast to take on the role of Angela Spica, better known as the villain The Engineer. It seems that for the film there is a whole team of villains for the Man of Steel to face, but that the main villain is Lex Luthor. Angela Spica is a character, actually quite new in the world of DC comics. In fact, she was only introduced to the public in 1999, in the first issue of The Authority. Angela has superpowers due to the nanotechnology implanted in her body, and was created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch.

Marìa Gabriela De Faria will play Angela Spica in Superman: Legacy, and it will be her first role in a major production. At the moment the rest of the cast counts: David Corenswet in the role of Clark Kent, alongside Rachel Brosnahan who will be the face of Lois Lane, then there will also be Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi and Nathan Fillion. If the project is successful, it should pave the way for The Authority to be part of the first installment alongside Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold. Filming is expected to begin in spring 2024at the iconic Leavesden Studios in London, although Gunn revealed that the film will be shot in different parts of the world.
