Take-Two Interactive Interview With Shareholders Provides Three Different News: A New Franchise Coming Up, Between Sales And GTA Mods
Thanks to the latest meeting with its shareholders, Take-Two Interactive it gave us three different points of reflection: a GTA we will come later, but for now we would like to focus on the announcement of a new franchise. The IP in question is registered 2KGames, but we only know that the reveal is expected later in the month. Fans are wondering if this is the new Marvel-themed XCOM from Firaxis, which has long been the protagonist of a rumor, or if it is a new project from Hangar 13. In the latter case, it would be a cross between Saints Row and the novels of HP Lovecraft. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands instead gives us an appointment at the beginning of 2022.
After the new Take-Two Interactive franchise, it’s time for GTA
Moving on to another Take-Two Interactive franchise, it’s back to talking about GTA again. Specifically, we now have numbers for two open world titles developed by Rockstar Games. In the case of the western, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been able to place on the market thirty-eight million copies. As for instead Grand Theft Auto V, with the not insignificant help of the previous formats, the game has exceeded the threshold of 150 million games sold. Since the winning team does not change, the CEO Strauss Zelnick made no secret of wanting to focus on two new versions with native support for next-gen hardware.

Speaking of this, Zelnick also wanted to explain why a company as “flexible” as Take-Two had to intervene removing the many mods of Grand Theft Auto present on the net. The reason is easy to understand: it is the context, in this case the versions so well done that they can replace an official product. Proof of this is the double win on the unofficial ports of GTA III and Vice City for Nintendo Switch, which earned the authors an unpleasant letter from the publisher. In other words, therefore, it is one thing if we are dealing with bad replacements of 3D models and another if we anticipate Rockstar on 4K … or on the sixth chapter of the saga, which perhaps will be conclusive.
