Midnight Factory, label of Plaion Pictures, is pleased to announce the arrival in Italian cinemas from next September 28th of the new supernatural teen horror Talk To Me. The publication of the poster and the teaser trailer accompany the announcement, given in conjunction with the wide release of the film in the United States with A24 (the well-known production and distribution company that triumphed at the Oscars 2023 with Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Whale, and launched some of the most iconic horror films of recent years, including Hereditary, X – A Sexy Horror Story and Pearl).

From the producers of Babadook, Talk to Me also stars the international star of The Lord of the Rings Miranda Otto and marks the directorial debut of the emerging Australian duo made up of twins Danny and Michael Philippou, already well known for signing and distributing controversial horror-comedy videos on their YouTube channel RackaRacka, generating over 2 billion views. Ouija style, the film responds to the classic canons of horror following the vein of demonic possession. With 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Talk To Me is currently the highest rated horror film of 2023, dubbed by Vice as “one of the scariest movies of the decade.”
Talk To Me is a descent into hell that begins when kids go too far by opening the door to the spirit world. A group of young boys – played by Sophie Wilde (Bird), Alexandra Jensen (Beat), Joe Bird (Rabbit), Otis Dhanji (Aquaman) – come across a series of viral videos depicting the shocking effects of a game bordering on the supernatural: a séance in which the subject comes into contact with the spirits of the afterlife through an embalmed hand which acts as a portal between the two worlds. Looking for a distraction on the anniversary of her mother’s death, teenager Mia (Sophie Wilde) and her group of friends decide to try their hand at a test of courage by summoning spirits by following a simple ritual in a dangerous game of raises. accepting in turn to challenge each other to open the gap that connects the living and the dead until breaking the rules of the game. The young friends will live a shocking experience and will find themselves trapped in a vortex of terror caused by the mysterious supernatural forces released by the ritual.
World premiere at Sundance Film Festival del 2023 where it garnered critical acclaim, Talk To Me will be released in Italian theaters on September 28 by Plaion Pictures’ horror label Midnight Factory. The synopsis of the film is as follows:
A group of young friends discover how to summon demons using an ancient embalmed hand, until one of them goes too far and permanently opens the door to the spirit world. Thus haunted by supernatural visions, the group unknowingly finds itself at the center of a devastating possession that will lead to an important question: is it better to trust the living or the dead?
