Daniel Ricciardo took an impressive ride through the canals of Amsterdam at the wheel of his STR7 Formula 1 single-seater for the opening of the ‘Ten Years of Daniel’ auction
This event marks the start of a special auction on Catawiki called “Ten Years of Daniel”. It was a rare sight for Amsterdammers to see Daniel Ricciardo take his former Formula 1 car for a spin on the city’s canals.
This extraordinary race was the opening of a new online auction, organized by Scuderia AlphaTauri, in collaboration with Catawiki, the European leader in auctions of special objects. This auction has been created to celebrate Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 career and features various items related to his motor racing legacy.
A portion of the proceeds from this special auction will be donated to the non-profit foundation “Wings for Life”; this is engaged in the search for a cure for spinal cord injuries.

During an exclusive event in Amsterdam, Daniel Ricciardo presented the main objects up for auction. This event was hosted by presenter and pilot Vicky Piria. Daniel Ricciardo made a very spectacular entrance, arriving at the event aboard his STR7 boat.
During the event, the Formula 1 driver, who recently returned to the track, shared some of the most significant moments of his Formula 1 career; which are reflected in the items that will be auctioned.
One of the main auction items is the STR7 Formula 1 single-seater. This car was driven by Ricciardo during his first season with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2012; when he earned his first Formula 1 points.
The single-seater features a state-of-the-art carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an instantly recognizable iconic dark blue and red livery. In addition to this unique single-seater, fans will have the opportunity to purchase items related to Ricciardo’s 2013 season.
Let’s talk about the year he got a place in Red Bull Racing and scored 20 championship points. These items include an autographed racing suit and balaclava.
Details on the “Ten Years of Daniel” auction
The “Ten Years of Daniel” auction also offers other one-of-a-kind collectibles from the archives of Scuderia AlphaTauri and Scuderia Toro Rosso; items carefully selected by Catawiki’s motorsport experts.
Among these objects stand out the mock-up of the 2009 STR4, the complete change of the STR8 and the 2016 Scuderia Toro Rosso pre-season race kit of Max Verstappen. Current items from the F1 season, autographed by the drivers, will also be included in the auction.
This auction is part of a series of five online auctions held this year, with the aim of bringing the world of Formula 1 closer to its passionate supporters. In total, fans will have the chance to pick up over 300 collectibles this year. The first auction has already been a huge success on Catawiki, attracting more than 200,000 unique visitors from all over the world and over 2,500 bids.
This amazing fan response reflects the growing passion for sports memorabilia, which is one of the fastest growing categories on Catawiki.

The “Daniel’s Ten Years” online auction, which includes over 70 special objects, is now active on Catawiki and i fans will be able to bid until September 3, 2023. Other auctions organized by Scuderia AlphaTauri and Catawiki will take place in September, November and December this year.
