Terraria: Journey’s End update arrives on Switch

Here comes the update called Journey’s End for Terraria. In addition, Nintendo Switch subscribers online will be able to play it for free from January 26th.

Good news for gamers who love to play Terraria on Nintendo Switch. The title, a 2D sandbox action-adventure developed by Re-Logic (PC) and DR Studios (console / mobile) and published by 505 Games, starts the new year in great shape with the release of the long-awaited update called Journey’s End, which after arriving on consoles last November, has recently also landed on Switch.

This new update further demonstrates the continued devotion that led Terraria to recently win the Steam 2021 “Labor of Love” and Tap Tap “Mobile Game of the Year” awards. Awards that come more than a decade after its original release on PC.

Journey’s End expands Terraria’s already impressive catalog of thousands of items, dozens of NPCs and hundreds of enemies with new content, features and more. Here is a list of new features introduced by the update:

  • Support for the touch screen

  • New enemies, including new bosses e new surprising events to discover and face.
  • Multiple game improvements (Block Swap, Void Vault, Boss Health Bars, Customizable UI, and more)
  • The atmospheric and meteorological effects play a more important role than ever (watch out for gusts of wind!)
  • One bestiary to keep track of enemies, allies and creatures encountered
  • Additional biomes and mini-biomes to explore, both on the surface and underground.
  • Play golf, a fun new pastime for when you want to take a break from slaughtering monsters
  • City pylons e happiness of the NPCs, an expansion of the city system culminating in the possibility of creating a teleportation network connecting cities around the world
  • Graphic revisions e user interface improvements, including a fully customizable split screen interface
  • New music tracks, including the new theme “Journey’s End” and the winning song of the Terraria music competition, created by Xenon and DSniper

We remind you that Terraria is available for various platforms such as Nintendo Switch (€ 29.99), PlayStation and Xbox (€ 18.99), Steam and Stadia (€ 9.99) and mobile (€ 4.99). In addition, Nintendo Switch Online offers its members the option of play Terraria for free from January 26th to February 1st.
