It is not the first time that Tesla has made headlines for various problems related to the safety of the technologies used: this time it is the Tesla Cybertruck that is in the eye of the storm. Let’s find out why right away
Its flashy and strange shapes at the same time had already aroused many doubts from multiple points of view. Although the aesthetic validity of the Tesla Cybertruck is closely linked to personal taste, the same cannot be said about safety-related parameters in the event of a collision.
The European Transport Safety Council even hopes that the vehicle will not come never offered for sale in the Old Continentbranding it as highly dangerous and even lethal. Naturally these considerations come after careful evaluations regarding the design criteria and materials used for the construction of the Tesla Cybertruck, considered absolutely not in line with safety standards currently in force in Europe.
Tesla Cybertruck: too many edges and unsuitable materials
The big problem that afflicts the Tesla Cybertruck comes precisely from its peculiar aesthetics. The numerous sharp corners together with the flat and imposing front they can easily result lethal in the event of a collision with pedestrians, cyclists and even other cars. This risk even comes aggravated by the material used for constructioni.e. stainless steel panels, poorly deformable and therefore a low shock absorption.
By Elon Musk’s own admission, this material, due to its resistance, it would have even damaged the molding machines. A real danger also for those traveling inside the vehicle and who, in the event of an accident, could enjoy much less protection than usualwith possible physical damage of a decidedly more serious extent than conventional cars.

If the European Transport Safety Council can lawfully have some serious doubts about the safety of the Tesla Cybertruckthe first ones are also making their way in America well-founded doubts. The safety guarantees of the vehicle in the event of a collision have not convinced several figures linked in various capacities to authoritative bodies such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Safe Transportation Research and Education Center of California and the IIHS (Institute for Highway Safety of the American Insurance Industry).
Poor communication from Tesla regarding crash tests, inaccurate statements by Elon Musk and a design philosophy as an end in itself do not seem to help clarify the situation. The Tesla Cybertruck most likely it will never arrive in Europe but also its stay on American roads will hopefully require further serious guarantees by the manufacturer.
