I think we are very close to achieving full autonomous driving without human supervision. This is just a forecast, but I think we will reach full autonomous driving level 4 or 5 by the end of the year

Musk admitted that he has made mistakes in the past in predicting the evolution of this technology, but stressed that he now feels closer to the finish line than ever. The tycoon’s dream of a fully autonomous vehicle could finally be within reach, despite Tesla’s driver assistance technology being the subject of careful regulatory assessment in the United States.
