On the night of TGA 2021, the new game of the former BioWare boss, Nightingale, a gaslamp-style MMO title was also presented
At tonight’s The Game Awards, room was left for numerous games and announcements, even if some of the most anticipated titles have not been seen in years. The absence of news on Hollow Knight Silksong and BioShock 4 has left some fans disappointed, while it was already quite obvious regarding the famous sagas of Dragon Age and Mass Effect, since during the Dragon Age Day BioWare had said that it had new news scheduled for next year. Meanwhile, former BioWare General Manager Aaron Flynn was able to take the stage to show off his new game at TGA 2021: it’s called Nightingale, and it will be a gaslamp title.

Aaryn Flynn had already confirmed his presence at The Game Awards 2021, claiming to have planned the revelation of his new game, developed by means of a technology that would allow to have huge environments and an impressive number of players, all within one server. The work unveiled at TGA 2021, called Nightingale, was developed by some of the veterans of the most important BioWare titles, now gathered under the Inflexion Games studio, initially called Improbable Canada.
Inside the first official trailer released at The Game Awards 2021, you can see the kind of adventures that this will offer game with a shared world, survival and crafting with a “gaslamp” style, set in a Victorian era. The gaslamp differs from steampunk for the use of magical, supernatural and occult elements, and by taking a look at the trailer you can also see the type of universe that the developers have created.
While players will search for “Nightingale”, the last refuge of all humanity, they will explore realms in the course of their adventure, visiting the various places through mystical portals. You can choose whether to play alone or join other users, and you will collect materials with which to build structures, create tools and weapons to defend yourself from the numerous hostilities present in the various universes. Aaryn Flynn also stated that he worked diligently on the title, with the aim of creating a universe capable of capturing with its magic, mystery and wonder. The Early Access of the title will show up next year, in 2022.
