The plot of the film is based on the fake trailer of the same name made by the director for Grindhouse by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez way back in 2007. Thanksgiving is written and directed by Eli Roth with Jeff Rander and is set after a tragedy that occurred on Black Friday. A mysterious killer begins to terrorize the inhabitants of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the very place where Thanksgiving was born.

The official synopsis reports that the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, is shocked by a tragedy that takes place inside a shopping center during Black Friday. Exactly one year later, during the Thanksgiving celebrations, a mysterious serial killer begins to torture and kill the locals, following a grotesque vengeful plan. The killer focuses his attention above all on a group of boys, which in turn hide a rather uncomfortable secret. So what initially seem like random revenge killings soon begin to reveal themselves as part of a darker and larger plan linked to the holidays themselves.
