The A-maze Garden, between art and sustainability

Amazon inaugurated today The A-maze Garden, an artistic installation created by the Lissoni Associati studio and included in the INTERNI Design Re-Generation exhibition.

“We are proud to be present at FuoriSalone 2022 with The A-maze Garden, a project we have been working on for two years together with Studio Lissoni and INTERNI. This is an important opportunity for us to tell about our wide selection of furniture and home products but also to raise awareness of our commitment to sustainability for the next few years – he commented. Mariangela Marseille, VP and Country Manager of Amazon.it and Amazon.es. – With this art installation we want to show our customers and all visitors that each of us can already make informed choices when buying on Amazon: from furniture to everyday products, from clothing to beauty products, it is important to let people know customers who are investing for an increasingly sustainable future. “

The A-maze Garden: what is it?

But let’s take a step back.
What is that The A-maze Garden?
The project, inspired by the labyrinthine Italian gardens, sees the distribution of forms that reinterpret the famous Amazon Smile, the one we have now learned to recognize and appreciate. Dissiminated for the Courtyard of the Pharmacy of the State University of Milan, we find ua series of curved walls, of different heights, covered with mirror and positioned in such a way as to recall Piet Mondrian’s decomposition of the tree. A deliberate reference, connected toAmazon’s environmental commitment and its Climate Pledgethe program with which Amazon aims to achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2040.

But Amazon’s mirror maze isn’t empty. In reality, this unusual maze and the arcade that surrounds it host a selection of products available in the Home section of Amazon.it, flanked by a QR code that allows you to get more information. Among these, of course, we find some of the over 100,000 certified products Climate Pledge Friendly, that Amazon customers in Europe can buy and contribute, with their consumption choices, to the protection of the environment.

They also accompany the installation a series of videos explaining what Amazon is actually doing to reduce its impact on our planet. They range from the supply of renewable energy to the electrification of delivery fleets, not to mention the elimination of unnecessary packaging. Impossible not to mention how much Amazon is doing instead in terms of conservation and restoration of the natural environment, with the urban reforestation program “Parco Italia”, which plans to plant 22 million trees in 14 Italian metropolitan areas, starting right from Milan, where Amazon is alongside Forestami in its commitment to plant 3 million trees in the Lombard capital.

  • Discover, which filters articles based on your style preferences and provides personalized recommendations from a selection of thousands of products;
  • Shoowroomwhich helps to personalize and furnish the room with the furniture items you prefer.

Alexa is also part of the installation with the new Echo Show 15, which aims to become the new digital heart of Italian families with a unique mix of style and technology.
