The BMW and MINI apps have exceeded ten million active users

The apps of BMW e MINI set a new record: over ten million motorists use “My BMW” and “MINI”. Additionally, thousands of users have given apps a 5-star rating in the Apple App Store.

The BMW and MINI apps are the most loved by customers

Peter Note, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Customer, Brands, Sales commented on the record achieved by the apps: “With over 10 million people using the ‘My BMW’ and ‘MINI’ apps, the BMW Group’s strategy of increasing customer proximity through digitization has proven highly successful. The apps enable our customers to communicate directly with us and with their vehicles and provide the BMW Group with a direct channel to customers.”

In fact, thanks to the apps it is possible to have the status of the vehicle always in view and enjoy many other functions, available with the simple push of a button.

Basically drivers can keep up to date with the status of your vehicle everytime, lock and unlock the doors, activate the air conditioning/ventilation o view the surroundings and interior of the vehicle using remote 3D viewing.

In addition, it is very easy to send destination addresses from the app to the vehicle’s navigation system, as well as manage third-party services, such as Amazon Alexa.

In the tab “Services & Store“, the customer can get a very useful up-to-date overview of available and booked digital services for the vehicle at any time, as well as conveniently add ConnectedDrive.

What else can be done

The “My BMW” app can perform saved and automatic parking manoeuvres from a maximum distance of six metres.

For electric vehicles, customers can get real-time information on the state of charge and autonomyas well as receive push notifications during charging when the target battery charge is reached and for any irregularities.

Another feature of both apps is the managing vehicle service and maintenance needs. When the vehicle needs to be serviced, the customer receives a push notification and can make an appointment directly in the app.

The entire support process is supported by the app with check-in, support video, status tracking and payment. Should the customer’s vehicle be involved in an accident, the application provides access to a quick and efficient way to call for roadside assistance.

The board “Explore” offers interesting content about BMW and MINI brands, products and services, including helpful how-to videos.

A special feature of both apps is the demo modefor an authentic BMW and MINI experience.

The “My BMW” and “MINI” apps were launched in July 2020 and have been expanded and optimized since then, also thanks to user feedback.

For example, from September 2022, the function “My Trips” of the “My BMW” app allows you to use journey statistics and information on energy consumption, average speed and CO2 emissions up to that point.

In the tab “Map“Instead, the user can search for fuel and charging stations and compare fuel prices directly there.
